Psych Solutions NT, established in 2012 by Kerry Williams, provides a wide range of psychological treatment and assessment services.
We serve clients throughout the Northern Territory, offering assessment services and comprehensive psychological services in Darwin and assessment services accross the Northern Territory. Additionally, we offer telehealth and NTG EAP counselling for clients located in Katherine, Alice Springs and remote communities.
Co-Director & Consultant
Kerry established Psych Solutions NT in 2011 and is a former Forensic Psychologist, holding a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology, a BA (Honours) in Psychology, a Diploma in Special Education and a BA in Politics and History.
Kerry has lived and worked in the NT since 1987 and brings a wealth of experience having worked both as Teacher, Principal and Psychologist, as well as experience in working in the Commonwealth Government.
Kerry is a past fellow of the Forensic College of the APS and the former Northern Territory representative of the Forensic College Committee. Kerry is member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law (ANZAPPL) and a past member of the NT Primary Health Network Top End Clinical Council.
Kerry now works in a Consultant capacity within the Practice, driving ongoing development, supporting our Clinicians, ensuring culturally safe practice and maintaining quality standards.
Psychologist
Dr Ilonka is a psychologist and counsellor who has been involved in the allied health industry for the past twelve years. Her areas of expertise include the provision of psychological services including psychological assessment, a range of therapies as well as counselling.
Dr Ilonka has worked with individuals ranging from 5 to 85 years of age as well as couples and families. She has extensive experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and has acquired significant cross-cultural knowledge. Dr Ilonka is highly regarded with her ability to work with Perinatal clients.
Prior to her career as mental health professional, Dr Ilonka was engaged as teacher and trainer in the education industry. She has worked within the secondary and tertiary systems as well as with private training providers. Dr Ilonka is currently holding the position of Professional Development Officer with the Australian Psychological Society, NT Branch.
Psychologist
Julia is a registered Psychologist with a Bachelor of Behavioural Sciences (Honours) and over seven years of experience working in various counselling and treatment roles. Julia employs an evidence-based approach, drawing from a range of therapies to best suit the client and their needs. She has a special passion in working with people from all cultural backgrounds. She has experience working with individuals, families and groups from different age groups and is a long-term Territorian. She has experience working with clients involved with the criminal justice system in both assessment and treatment roles.
Prior to working in the counselling field, Julia worked in the environment sector where she has a Masters degree in Environmental Studies.
Julia is currently working on a specific EAP Program in the Kakadu National Park. Julia is available for occasional assessment work but not therapy referrals.
Psychologist
Natalie is a registered psychologist with seven years’ experience working in counselling, psychological assessment and special education roles.
Natalie has a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Honours) which she attained through Charles Darwin University. Natalie is a born and bred Territorian who has lived in Darwin her entire life. Natalie is a proud Aboriginal woman with family connections in the Katherine region and Alice Springs.
Natalie is passionate about working with Aboriginal youth and people with intellectual disabilities, and has extensive practice working with children with a care experience. Natalie builds strong collaborative partnerships with staff and stakeholders to ensure best practice and outcomes for clients.
Natalie lives by the proverb “it takes a village to raise a child”. Along with raising her own three children, Natalie has provided care for several cousins, nieces and nephews over the years.
Natalie is also highly involved in Aussie Rules, and has provided mentorship to young female athletes for over five years.
Prior to working in the psychological field, Natalie worked for the Federal Government for 13 years before deciding to return to university as a mature-age student. Natalie employs an eclectic approach to counselling, drawing on evidenced-based approaches best suited to the needs of individual clients. Natalie is thoroughly enjoying her life-long learning journey.
Psychologist
Chloe is a registered psychologist with over 11 years of clinical experience. She has experience in both private practice settings, non-government mental health organisations, as well as the public health system at Royal Darwin Hospital.
She is a psychologist with broad experience however she has speciality in the areas of psycho-oncology and palliative care.
Chloe has spent time working with Psych Solutions NT since 2013. She is currently working in the area of assessments, and is completing these in correctional settings, through private legal referral, as well as for external referrals for Government agencies, including the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities
Chloe has additional experience in geriatric mental health and is currently providing in-reach clinical services for our Residential Aged Care Program
She is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society and is a previous board member of the Top End branch of the APS.
Chloe is also board approved supervisor through the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) and is available to provide supervision services.
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Wilton is an accredited mental health social worker, who enjoys working with people from all walks of life. Prior to obtaining his Masters degree in Social Work, he trained as an Engineer, worked as an Officer in the Air Force, as a lecturer and in various other roles.
Wilton employs various evidence-based therapies and focused psychological approaches that seek to resolve the difficulties faced by the clients. Wilton has an extensive range of qualifications and has completed training in motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT and EMDR. Wilton works with clients from all age groups and is genuinely driven by seeing positive outcomes for his clients
Psychologist (available for Telehealth sessions)
Judy has comprehensive psychological knowledge and practical experience having worked in both the public and private sector for over 20 years. Her experience as a psychologist is diverse and she works with adults, children, families, couples, veterans and EAP clients. Judy focuses on the individual goals and needs of each client using a range of evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Meditation, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, Schema therapy, and Family Therapy.
Judy also specialises in relationship counselling and is trained to work with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method.
Judy is an active listener with an empathic professional approach. Although Judy has been doing face to face therapy for many years, she has found that many people prefer online counselling because it is more convenient, private and creates less anxiety. Telehealth also makes more sense for people who are busy, working from home or living in remote areas.
Social Worker (available for Telehealth sessions)
Charity is an experienced Social Worker with a Tertiary qualification in Communications, who is currently completing further postgraduate work specific to the mental health arena with La Trobe University. Charity has wide ranging work experience that spans the Public, Non-Government and Private sectors. She is an experienced counsellor, case manager, assessor, trainer, advocate, and supervisor who has worked in a variety of roles.
Charity possesses significant experience in youth, mental health and the educational sector, along with victims of crime and survivors of sexual violence. Charity grew up in Darwin, is committed to a client-centric approach and she is approachable and friendly.
Business Manager/Co-Director
Dave is a highly experienced Community Services Manager/Director with experience in Government, Non-Government and the Private Sector, covering over 30 years’ experience in a variety of roles. Dave is originally from UK where he graduated with an Honours Degree in Politics and Sociology from the University of Warwick.
Dave arrived in Darwin in 1993, working in various operational and management roles in the Child Protection Sector. Dave was one of the first Court/Legal Officers roles in Family and Children Services (now Territory Families) and also held various Management roles in the Department up to 2001, including Program Manager of the Darwin Urban region, this was followed by 3 years working as a Senior Alternative Care Manager in Adelaide for Anglicare SA. Dave returned to Darwin in 2004 working as the Senior Manager of the FACS Service System Improvement unit, followed by his last role in Government as the Operational Director of Family and Children Services.
From 2008 Dave ran his own successful recruitment and training business, RECRUIT-ME-NT for 10 years and combined that with running Psych Solutions NT but is now solely working as our Business Manager and Co-Director. Dave has excellent co-ordination, planning and logistical abilities combined with a friendly and efficient approach.
Psychologist with Clinical and Forensic Endorsement
Michelle is a psychologist with clinical and forensic endorsement. Practising since 2005, Michelle has spent a significant proportion of her career working with adults and adolescents involved in the criminal justice system in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand – teaching problem-solving skills, emotion regulation skills, and other skills for managing offending behaviour.
For Psych Solutions NT Michelle is solely providing Assessment Services for the both the Local and Supreme Court, Youth Justice Assessments, privately commissioned Legal Assessments and Assessments for the Department of Children and Families.
Michelle’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Liberal Studies) (University of South Australia) in 1993, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (UniSA) in 2000, and a Master of Psychology (Forensic) (UniSA) in 2005.
Michelle has published papers in the areas of perspective-taking and anger arousal (2007), cultural competence in undergraduate psychology (2008), and psychological issues relating to the design of juvenile justice centres (2004). In previous roles, she worked as a Senior Forensic Psychologist for the SA Government within the Departments of Correctional Services and Juvenile Justice. She also practised as a Chartered Forensic Psychologist in the UK, working at Rampton Hospital within the Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder Unit.
Michelle is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a member of the Forensic and Clinical Colleges.
Registered Psychologist
Margi is a registered psychologist who has lived and worked in the NT since 2007. She is an Organisational Psychology Registrar who has a passion for developing psychosocially safe and healthy workplaces. With a demonstrated history of promoting strategies for optimal mental health and wellbeing, Margi enjoys working with a broad range of stakeholders to recognise their strengths and explore challenges with a solutions-focused mindset. Margi specialises in organisational-level interventions, and the provision of Employee Assistance Program services to support clients to resolve worries which impact upon both their work and family life.
Margi’s commitment to delivering effective, evidence-based interventions is underpinned by her excellent interpersonal skills, and inclusive cross-cultural collaboration practices. She is an accomplished psychologist, coach, adult educator and group facilitator, and enjoys working with groups and individuals to identify and achieve their professional and personal development goals. Margi considers herself a life-long learner, and enjoys quality time with friends and family, exploring the world, and creating connections within her community.
For Psych Solutions NT Margi is providing in-house EAP service to two large organisations commissioned by an interstate EAP Provider. Margi is also providing some sessional counsellling services.
Forensic Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist
Dr Amanda White is an endorsed Forensic Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist with extensive training and experience in the preparation of forensic psychological and neuropsychological expert reports. She is skilled in the comprehensive assessment of cognitive, behavioural and psychological impairments associated with complex histories, multiple comorbidities and a range of conditions, including acquired brain injury, neurodegenerative disorders, psychological and psychiatric illness, developmental disorders, neurological conditions, intellectual disability, drug and alcohol issues and forensic matters including risk assessment. She has worked extensively in both inpatient and outpatient clinical neuropsychological settings in NSW hospitals. Her PhD research explored cognition and fitness to stand trial assessments. She has published papers in international journals and is a peer reviewer for several international journals. Dr White also lectures at UNSW for the Master of Forensic Psychology program. She has appeared as an expert witness in the NSW courts and various tribunals.
Dr White runs her own practice Neuropsychological and Forensic Services in Sydney but has partnered with Psych Solutions NT since 2024 for the purposes of conducting assessments that have been commissioned by Psych Solutions NT in the Northern Territory.
